Finally a tutorial for my books! yayyyy~

Here's my outcome: It's called The Gray Grimoire [link]

I'd love to see what peeps can make with this. Enjoy!

PS: I apologize if the sewing instructions can be confusing. once you get the pattern it's not hard, just takes a lot of words to explain...

Holy crap. I needed to learn how to bind books for sewing for my O level art exam, and after searching through a million horribly confusing tutorials, I found only one on dA. And it is wonderful.

THANK YOU SO MUCH YOU'VE JUST SAVED MY LIFE.

I am definitely going to have to try this. Not only are books awesome, but if you can make them by yourself, how ... far awesomer (omg I'm tired) is that?

I had a friend who made a book once for me, and as I recall she glued the pages in. While it worked and served its purpose... this seems like a much more sure way to have a good binding - as if it will last much longer and be much more efficient.

Rock on

Yeah, in school whenever we did projects making books, they were all fold and staple or fold and glue. i discovered this kind of binding and it really works well and gives you a stunning product.

I made another nice little gray one that i'm starting to write down all my recipes in. i love baking and making all kinds of cool things-- and this little recipe book is really useful!

That's wonderful! Cooking (as well as crafting :D ) can be *so* therapeutic, lol.

Do you have any recommendations on where to look to find awls? They're the only item I don't have lying around my room somewhere - Granted, I haven't gone to look anywhere just yet, but it isn't something that I would normally search for...
